MateBook X 2020's design is similar to its Pro variant. In fact, it shares similar specs as well with a few new features and improvements added. The body is made out of magnesium-aluminum alloy with dimensions of 284.4 x 206.7 x 13.6 mm. It weighs at about 1kg as well. For thermals, it uses a fanless heat dissipation system.
It has a 13-inch LTPS LCD touchscreen display with a 3000 x 2000 resolution at 3:2 aspect ratio. It also has a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, 100 percent sRGB color accuracy, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits peak brightness, 178-degree viewing angle, and 10-points of touch.
Inside, it has up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10510U processor, up to 16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 RAM, and 512GB NVMe SSD. There is no dedicated GPU though. This specs sheet is good enough for normal workloads, some light photo and video editing, and casual gaming. Don't expect to run graphics-heavy applications and games though.
The new Free Touch trackpad is a pressure-sensitive trackpad. This is the first in terms of Windows laptops. It is capable of detecting different levels of pressure with vibration feedback to boot.
To round out the features, the MateBook X 2020 has quad-speakers, dual microphones, pop-up webcam, backlit keyboard, a fingerprint sensor, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 2 x USB-C ports, 3.5mm audio port, 42Whr battery, and support for 65W fast charging.
China price with direct PHP conversion (No Taxes yet)
There are three variants announced in China. It has an Intel Core-i5/8GB variant priced at CNY 7,999 (around PHP 56K out of straight conversion), Core-i5/16GB variant at CNY 8,999 (around PHP 63K out of straight conversion), and a Core i7/16GB variant at CNY 9,999 (around PHP 70K out of straight conversion).
It comes in four colors namely Frost Silver, Interstellar Blue, Green Mountain Daisy, and Cherry Blossom Powder. It is in pre-order in China starting on August 19 and will officially go on sale starting August 24.
Local availability and pricing is yet to be confirmed though.
