It is free-to-play and has Ranked mode as well |
Wild Rift is a free-to-play, faithful rendition of the PC game but streamlined for mobile phones and consoles. It now has a new twin-stick control scheme for consoles as well as touch controls for smartphones. It now features shorter matches meant for gaming on-the-go as a game can clock at around 15-20 minutes.
Wild Rift is not a port of League on PC according to Riot. It is a new game built from the ground up but retains the lore and core gameplay of LoL. Tencent's Arena of Valor has seen a lot of success in the mobile and console market which prompted Riot Games to dive in as well.
Wild Rift is scheduled for a 2020 launch with Beta Registration as well as pre-registration available through Google Play. You can register as a beta tester at this link. PC players that have been playing League for years are also set to receive rewards.
